Claircognizant InsightsSeeing might be believing, but just "knowing" is hard to prove.
Claircognizance, or clear knowing, is one of the most difficult to describe of the four basic intuitive senses. We've all heard of clairvoyance, where a person literally "sees" images or whole pictures in their mind's eye. Clairaudience (hearing) and clairsentience (feeling) are commonly portrayed in movies and on television. As a claircognizant, I seem to know and say specific things without any prior thought or reference. I often have information, perceptions and insights about people and circumstances I've only recently encountered that I simply “know” to be true. Being naturally intuitive helps, of course, but I'm hard-pressed to explain those insights that seem to have no recognizable source. To make matters even more difficult, I have little control over when and where these thoughts come to me. Unlike my two mentors, both of whom were highly clairvoyant, I can't just look at someone and pick up important information. When I wake up in the morning knowing who will be calling me later that day, I can't tell them more than that I was just thinking about them. When I suddenly realize that someone is unexpectedly happy, sad, sick, pregnant, or excited, I can't explain why I know - and I'm sometimes aware of the fact that I'm not supposed to be privy to that information. Insights are valuable - no matter where they come from. My teachers have told me that these insights are from spirits, angels, or guides. That may be the case, but so far no heavenly soul has owned up to sending me details and impressions that pop into my head (and often right out of my mouth!). I will confess to having long conversations with departed loved ones, but the connection there is a common experience. I've also spent hours and hours visiting the Akashic Records to learn more about myself, but I would feel uncomfortable trying to peek into someone else's book without their permission. When guiding a client through a past life regression, I appear to be more open to messages from their guides or loved ones. I've passed on these messages when the time seemed right and the client is willing to hear them. I'm delighted to help when I can. |
